Blu intenso, come un frammento di Mar Mediterraneo. Nascoste tra le fibre di questo tappeto si trovano figure ricamate, visibili solo accarezzando il tessuto. I ricami, che raffigurano uomini e donne distesi in mezzo al mare, appaiono come delle divinità addormentate sul fondo del tappeto. Presenze silenziose, testimoni di ciò che accade sulla superficie. La composizione è pensata per oscillare tra leggerezza e gravità, lasciando spazio a diverse interpretazioni: le figure, maschili e femminili, possono sembrare distese ad amare il mare oppure tragicamente disperse. Il tappeto è concepito come un’istantanea vista dall’alto. Questo progetto indaga l’ambiguità della rappresentazione del Mar Mediterraneo, da molti idealizzato come luogo da sogno, simbolo di vacanze, bellezza e piacere, ma che si rivela anche teatro di tragedie contemporanee, segnato dalla realtà drammatica delle migrazioni. Anche il titolo del progetto, "Decoro Mediterraneo", lavora su due livelli: decoro come ornamento e decoro come complesso di valori e dignità.

Deep blue, like a fragment of the Mediterranean Sea. Hidden among the fibers of this carpet are embroidered figures, visible only when the fabric is gently touched.
The embroideries, depicting men and women lying in the sea, appear as sleeping deities resting at the bottom of the carpet—silent presences, witnesses to what unfolds on the surface.
The composition is designed to oscillate between lightness and gravity, leaving room for multiple interpretations: the male and female figures may seem peacefully immersed in the sea, or tragically scattered.

The carpet is conceived as an aerial snapshot. This project explores the ambiguity of the Mediterranean's representation—idealized by many as a dreamlike place, a symbol of holidays, beauty, and pleasure, yet also a stage for contemporary tragedies, marked by the dramatic reality of migration.
Even the project’s title, Decoro Mediterraneo, operates on two levels: decoro as ornament, and decoro as a set of values and human dignity.
